Gurudwara Singh Sabha Christchurch (GSSC) is the largest Gurudwara organisation in Canterbury, established in 2002.

Gurdwara means the ‘Guru’s Door’ or ‘through the Guru’ which pronounced as‘Gur-Dwa-raa’. Sikhs comes here to learn how to live a spiritual and moral
life and earn Guru’s blessings.People from all faiths and religions are welcomed in gurdwaras.



NAAM JAPO


Naam Japo refers to the meditation or contemplation of the various Names of God, especially the chanting of the word “Waheguru” representing the formless being, the creator of all the forms, and the being omnipresent in all forms.

KIRAT KARO


Kirat Karo means to earn an honest, pure and dedicated living by exercising one’s God-given skills, abilities, talents and hard labour for the benefit and improvement of the individual, their family and society at large.

WAND SHAKO


The term Wand Shako means to share what you have and to consume it together as a community. This could be wealth, food. etc.The term is also used to mean to participate in charity, to contribute in Langar and to generally help others in the community who need help.
